All across the world, many different cultures encompass symbolic traditions for their wedding ceremonies and celebrations. In a recent Greenfield Online/Ciao Surveys census representative omnibus survey, over 1,000 respondents from India were asked about their thoughts about marriage and wedding celebrations.

Greenfield Online/Ciao Surveys respondents in India reported 76% of them were married. Out of the respondents who are married, 94% of them have had a wedding, celebration, or reception.

When asked how many people they invited to their wedding the majority of respondents with 60% said more than 250!

What range do you think is appropriate to spend on a wedding? 27% of seperated/divorced/ or widowed respopndents thought Rs700,000 to Rs999,999 was appropriate to spend on a wedding! The chart below highlights Greenfield Online/Ciao Surveys respondent’s opinions.
